Chiropractic care focuses on improving how your spine and nervous system work together. When your spine is properly aligned and moving well, it helps reduce stress on your body, improve posture, support your muscles and joints, and allow your nervous system to function more efficiently. This can lead to less pain, better mobility, and overall improved health.
What does a chiropractic adjustment do?
A chiropractic adjustment is a specific, controlled movement applied to a joint that isn’t moving well. Here’s what it helps with:
● Restores normal joint motion by unlocking areas that are restricted or “stuck”
● Reduces pressure and inflammation around the joint and surrounding tissues
● Improves communication in your nervous system, which helps your body function more efficiently
● Relieves muscle tension caused by joint dysfunction or poor alignment
● Supports long-term healing by allowing your body to move better and recover naturally
Does an adjustment hurt?
Adjustments are generally very safe and not painful. Some people feel instant relief, while others feel mild soreness—similar to how you might feel after working out. We always tailor our techniques to your comfort level and can modify your care as needed.
Do I need to get my neck adjusted?
Only if it’s clinically appropriate and you’re comfortable with it. Neck adjustments can help with headaches, tension, mobility, and posture—but we’ll always explain why we recommend it and walk you through what to expect. You’re always in control of your care.
What is the “pop” sound during an adjustment?
The popping or cracking sound you sometimes hear during an adjustment is called a cavitation. It’s simply the release of gas (mostly nitrogen and carbon dioxide) from a joint as pressure is relieved. It’s not harmful and isn’t necessary for the adjustment to be effective—it’s just a byproduct of the change happening in the joint.
Do I need to have continuous care forever?
No—but it depends on what you want from care. Some people come in for short-term relief after an injury or flare-up. Others choose regular visits as part of their wellness routine, much like going to the gym or dentist. We’ll always talk through your goals, explain your options, and support whatever level of care works best for you—no pressure, no long-term contracts.
